Is what's good for the goose good for the gander??

We all hear the old sayings from our family members such as "What's good for the goose is good for the gander", "the pot calling the kettle black" and "two wrongs don't make a right". Plus many more but I want to touch on the first one in this blog.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.... what does this mean exactly? Here is a definition that I found to maybe help us understand this better.

It's often used today to say - If it's OK for you to do it, then it must be OK for your spouse or mate to do it too.

If you are fooling around, don't be surprised to find out your wife or husband is too!

Now people, look at it this way if you would get pissed off at your woman/man for doing something that you are doing do you really think you should be doing it? You are in a relationship as equals, you both bring things to the table so why would it be right for you to be chillin' with some chick/dude when you are away from your significant other if you would get pissed about your significant other chillin' with some other chick/dude while you are away.

Thing is people don't seem to care about feelings anymore, if you love someone you wouldn't do anything to make them feel unloved, their relationship threatened or not wanted. Ladies and Gentlemen, think before you do, that's always the best thing to do. Ask yourself would I get mad if my man/woman was out doing the same thing I am without me? Trust has a lot to do with this saying as well, at least in my eyes. It's not necessarily not trusting your significant other but you have thirsty males/females out there that you have to worry about.

This saying also is good for those parents who want to change up the rules for their daughters and sons, meaning you cannot make rules for things such as dating and not make it unanimous around the board. Your daughter can't date until she is 18 then your son shouldn't be allowed to either. Why do parents accept a son having a child at such a young age easier than a daughter, either way they are your children and the standards should be the same.
